soon, teaching a puppy to say “McCain” 06/19/08

For those following my search for Pollock the pup (a puppy I’ll name Pollock), I’m thinking of a Boston Terrier.

A good friend of mine who you may remember from our National Journal profile, Itching for Change, Justin Hamilton, just taught his dog, El Guapo, to say “Obama.”

That is a great breed! If you go forward with this, I’d like to be a surrogate dog walker.

I would recommend a pug. We have one, and he is fantastic! Pugs have great personality. Plus, Pollock the Pug would flow perfectly. Let me know if you have any questions about the breed.

Funny, my mom told me today to investigate a Puggle (pug + beagle).

Tell me more.

I have a black miniture Schnauzer. They don’t shed. He only loses hair when he is groomed. Smart dog, easily trained, but he does beg at the table.

Super friendly, unbelievably personable, very loving. Some shedding but very little, and great with children. I’ll send you some pics. My wife and I are really happy with him. His name is Frankie–named after Frank Sinatra. A+ dog for sure. Oh yeah, and an ardent supporter of Republican ideals! Big McCain fan.

they have a TON of energy — be sure you really have the time to devote walking and playing with the little guy! also, there are a ton of great dog parks in DC, and that is truly the best way in the world to tire out a dog. i learned from experience that tired dog=good dog=both of you happy! good luck with the little guy!
