Reflecting on the Fourth 07/05/08
I’m really upset that I didn’t add a single post yesterday. I actually wrote two separate items using my BlackBerry (white 3G iPhone next week!) from the pool. For some reason, I simply didn’t click publish (though I thought I had). So, I’m going to reflect a little bit on yesterday’s events.
My Fourth of July was really nice. Poolside at a Georgetown estate for a good 5 hours, tons of good people (including four from Ohio), pixel sessions, beer pong, ribs shipped in from Montgomery Inn (Cincinnati, Ohio), Rock Band, American flags, freedom, and of course, bottle rockets. Indeed I took some sweet pics that I’ll be uploading later.
I didn’t watch the DC fireworks and I’m not really upset about it. Over-rated. It’s almost like every year that I watch the fireworks it disappoints me and chips away at my childhood memories of how great they used to be at Northam Park in Columbus.
All in all, one of the best Fourth’s ever. Definitely would have been nice to see my family and high school buddies but it’s always rad to be in our nation’s capital celebrating freedom.
Heading to J. Paul’s in Georgetown for brunch. Unfortunately it’s overcast so I don’t think we’ll be doing cannonballs and back-flips. I’m crossing my fingers that the clouds will break.
