finally, an iPhone (just not today) 07/11/08

So I was walking by the local AT&T this afternoon on my way to check out some new office space at 18th and U St NW for DAG and the line had — finally — died down. In fact, a security officer was now standing at the door informing folks that they were sold out.

However, I was determined and undeterred by the uniform.

I asked what they were recommending for those seeking a killer 3G iPhone. She said that I could order it today and have it shipped to the store as early as next week.

Bam! Done.

One killer 16GB white 3G iPhone now has my name on it and will be in my pocket before the end of next week.

In the words of the late Jerry Garcia, “what a long strange trip it’s been.” Long, strange, and I’m still not there.

However, I’m so close I can taste it. (Insert Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia reference here.)

Stay tuned.
