a love story (tune)

One of the greatest solo artists since Jeff Buckley is Norwegian-born Thomas Dybdahl. In “a love story,” featured here, you get a good sense of Dybdahl’s emotional songwriting style “at it’s peak.” Enjoy.

Cafe Milano

I’m heading to one of my favorite Italian restaurants tonight – Cafe Milano.
Located just off Wisconsin on Prospect in Georgetown, it’s known for being a destination for celebs (like Barack Obama?) when they visit our nation’s capital. The atmosphere is fun and hip.
I typically get the linguine with lobster dish served in a zesty red [...]

Typically one of my least favorite flowers but Faluh convinced me that I’d like this batch given their fire red color. So far, he’s right.

Re: the Debate

Apparently, I was wrong.
John McCain mandled Barack from the opening statment to the closing statement.
Barack failed — failed miserably — to tie John McCain to George W. Bush and ineffectively held his own.
IMHO – John McCain is the one America will trust to be our next President.

The Debate

Without a doubt, America’s hero John McCain has a steep challenge ahead of him tonight if he’s to compete with the Left’s Chosen One.
Though the focus of the debate is foreign affairs — McCain’s strongest issue, it will doubtless focus intently on America’s economy — an issue Peggy Noonan yields to the Democrats. Moderators may [...]

Loving Peggy Noonan’s perspective

Every campaign goes up and down. Given the recent downturn The Mac has taken in the polls, it was great to get a little perspective from Peggy Noonan in today’s WSJ:
I agree with the cliché that when the issue is the economy, voters have a greater tendency to turn to the Democrats. The economy is [...]

12 seconds to support John McCain

There’s an interesting new video-sharing community which recently launched called 12Seconds.tv. The site is currently in phase “Alpha” which means that they limit the amount of users as they make changes on the site that you only find when folks start using it.
The general thrust of the site is a novel idea: Record a video [...]

Update on the Rochelle Behrens Collection

This past July I told you about my stylish friend Rochelle Behrens who had launched a new line of clothing, the Rochelle Behrens Collection.
As tribute to her early success, Rochelle has received quite a bit of attention from the press including this fantastic hit from NPR, “Lobbyist-Turned-Designer Livens Up Office Looks.”
Clutch line from Ro: “You [...]

Not to be controversial, but I like Rod Stewart’s version of the song, Ooh la la, better than the Faces version.

PorkParade.com

Congressman Jeff Flake launches PorkParade.com, originally uploaded by DavidAll06.

Today we helped launch a new site for Arizona Republican Congressman Jeff Flake: PorkParade.com.
Flake’s quote upon launch: “Congress will only end its enthusiasm for pork when enough citizens make their displeasure known. My hope is that PorkParade.com will give Congress that message.”
It is awesome to see how [...]

noting the sound of crickets

Long time no blog. I know. You can hear the crickets just as loudly as me.
It’s not because nothing has been going on. Quite the opposite.
We’ve been taking on new clients at DAG, hammering on some fun projects, and still looking for an office space. On top of that, I’ve been spending a lot of [...]

Palin Energy

Hottest VP from the coolest state, originally uploaded by DavidAll06.

There’s real, honest energy for Palin-McCain among Republicans.
I took this shot of @MatthewHaller last night with my iPhone 3G. Matt was an ardent Rudy-backer and now he’s in for McCain. Natch.
For a peek at why the base is joining up, be sure to read this [...]

Remembering September 11

I was 22 and an administrative aide to Ohio State Representative Ann Womer Benjamin — my first real job out of school — and I was working in her office in Ohio’s greatest city: Columbus.
Sitting at my desk working on constituent mail — I remember one of the pages walking around saying “a plane just [...]

Gearing up for Halloween

Almost every year for Halloween, I’ve dressed up as something out of the ordinary.
Three years ago I dressed up like a BlackBerry. That was a fun costume — very detailed and creative.
Two years ago I was working on a Senate race in Michigan so I skipped Halloween in order to help beat up a liberal [...]

This is one of my favorite pics taken on the fourth night of the Republican National Convention. Nothing too remarkable about the photo, it’s just a simple shot.
But then again, I’m really just a simple Ohio guy at heart. So to me, I just like it.

glad it’s over, but glad to be a Republican

The Republican National Convention this past week was awesome. The thousands of man (and woman) hours put into the show were evident. I appreciate those staff and Republican officials who helped make it a great show for the American people.

Sarah Palin: Authentic

Sarah Palin’s Veep acceptance speech tonight at the third night of the Republican National Convention was the most authentic presentation I have ever witnessed.
